  • Shekou International School, Nanshan

    Shekou International School is a private, not-for-profit international school, located in Shekou, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It serves students in Nursery through to Grade 12 across three campuses.
    Shekou International School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and offers the IB Diploma program in the High School. The school is also a member of the East Asian Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) and a member of All-China and Mongolia International School (ACAMIS) organisation. The school was opened in 1988, funded by four oil companies: Amoco, Arco, CACT and Phillips.Shekou International School presently has over 800 students representing 40 different countries. Among them 20% are American, 55% are Asian and 20% are European. The faculty consists of over 90 teachers coming from the United States, Canada, U.K., New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Guatemala, and China. The student–staff ratio is under 10:1.

Textbooks are loaned to students without charge. Class sizes are small. Native English and certified teachers are employed.

  • International School of Nanshan, Shenzhen

    An international school located on Nanguang Road, in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, P.R. China, the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS) (formerly the International School of Sino-Canada) is accredited by the New Brunswick Department of Education in Canada. It offers to its students an internationally recognized Canadian curriculum. On June 12, 2014, ISNS was granted candidate status by the International Baccalaureate Organization for (IB) Primary Years Programme / Middle Years Programme / Diploma Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
    ISNS was founded in 2002 through the co-operation of the Government of Canada, the Province of New Brunswick and Dr. Francis Pang. ISNS fulfills a local need for international education.
    The school guarantees a low student-teacher ratio, no greater than 15 students per kindergarten and grade 1 class along with one TA, 25 students in grades 2 to 12, assuring that each child’s individual needs can be met. At ISNS it is believed that education must change with the times, for this reason every classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard and has access to class sets of macbooks and ipads to complement interactive teaching methods.   • Japanese School, Nanshan

    The Shenzhen Japanese School is a Japanese international school in the Shekou Industrial Zone, Nanshan District, Shenzhen. As of 2007, the largest group of foreigners in Shenzhen are in Shekou, and the Japanese school was one of many foreign schools in that area.
    Around 2004 the Shenzhen Japanese Chamber of Commerce suggested establishing a Japanese school. Shenzhen Fuji Xerox and several other Japanese companies sponsored the Japanese school. It was scheduled to begin operations in April 2008. On April 23, 2008 the Ministry of Education of China approved the establishment of the school. The school opened on Friday June 13, 2008. At that time the school had 39 students and 17 teachers. The school initially occupied an area on the second floor of the Haitao Hotel in Shekou. The school was scheduled to move out within three years and take a permanent facility.
